I will be introduced to the whole idea of couples presently going through either the stage of pregnancy, or adoption as we move to the next unit of the course. Particularly I will see that there are lots of different ways (in this case 5) couples experience procreation and be looking for the impact of pregnancy on the women, and each couple. I will also be examining the new father role of the 2010s versus the traditional role.

LEARNING GOAL
I will read and work with the ideas presented by Daniel Wayne Matthews regarding some of the major changes and issues that are relevant to newly weds. I will know about 4 theories or ways of understanding the complexities of marital relationships and some recommendations regarding how to have a successful one.

What is the "gist" of this article? In groups or four or five, students will examine 5 coloured slips with the words communication, flexibility, and so on on them. After looking at these words, the idea is to speculate and possibly infer what the main ideas of the article might be.
ACTION
1) There are 4 stations set up in the classroom. Each group needs to work through each station. Identify the hardest to easiest adaptations that couples need to make at station 1 (fuchsia). Identify whether statements are true or false at station 2 (yellow). Fill out the money worksheets individually at station 3 (green) and then see if you can come up with a group consensus. Fill out the in-law worksheets at station 4 (blue) and then see if you can come up with a group consensus.
2) Power point lesson on four ways of understanding marital success. Fill in the blanks on the corresponding work sheets.
